Clinic Details

Timings

Student Practitioners are available Friday and Saturday from 9am-5pm (while school is in session

February 16th - April 13th, 2024

Arrival

Please arrive 10 minutes early. This will allow time for you to check-in and talk through a quick preliminary interview. These are necessary protocols - so please be aware that arriving on the hour may take time away from your actual massage.

Length

Each session is 50 minutes of hands-on time. Please arrive ten minutes before your appointment begins.

Cancellation Policy

Please note - there is a 24-hour cancellation policy if you can’t make your appointment.

 

We are completely understanding of emergency situations, so please let us know as soon as you can if you won’t be able to make it.

Late cancellations or no-shows will unfortunately need to be charged $45.00

Cost

Each session with a Student Practitioner is $45.00

​

Payment is required at the time of booking. If you would like to leave a tip you must bring cash to the appointment.

Document and Fees

There is a health history form that you will need to complete. These can be completed within our online booking system. 

 

Payment will be collected at the time of booking your appointment.

What to Expect

  • A short client assessment

  • 50-minute massage

  • Professional draping at all times (see details on this below)

  • Cleanliness, professionalism, and respect

  • A Licensed Massage Therapist will be supervising the student clinic at all times

  • Hypoallergenic massage oils and creams will be used (Please let us know if you have a known skin sensitivity)​

A Quiet Space

​

We ask all who visit our clinic to be mindful of the treatment space and to observe silence whenever possible.

​

Respectful Behavior

​

We ask all visitors to maintain a professional and respectful manner with our student therapists. No sexual innuendo or suggestive behavior is permitted. Any such behavior will end the massage session immediately.

Professional Draping

 

  • Draping is the formal term for how a massage therapist uses sheets and towels to cover the body of their client during a treatment session.

  • Please undress to your own comfort level.

  • You may leave on any undergarments or wear a bathing suit.

  • Each area of your body will be undraped and re-draped as necessary.

  • Areas of your body that are not part of the massage will never be undraped or touched.

  • Please feel free to communicate any areas of your body you’d prefer not to have touched with your therapist - we want you to be as comfortable as possible during your treatment.

When to Avoid a Treatment

​

  • If you have a condition that requires a doctor's approval to receive massage - if you are unsure, please check in with your doctor to be sure.

  • If you have contagious skin ailment (poison ivy, fungal infection, etc.)

  • If you have any type of infection

  • If you are unsure whether or not a particular condition is appropriate you can send us an email at clinic@nmschoolofmassage.com before your appointment, and we can help you make an educated decision.

Please Note: Massage isn't intended as a replacement for regular medical care. If you are concerned, please let your doctor know you're trying a massage and be sure to follow any standard treatment plans you have.
